Leading Ladies Fitness Challenge

Are you a local business owner, CEO, manager, director, and all around kick-butt woman? If you fit this description then we want to hear from you!

Though Beach Butlerz appreciates all supporters- male or female- we are showing a bit of extra love for the women in our community in the coming months. From March 7- May 26 Beach Butlerz will be hosting the Leading Ladies Fitness Challenge.

The Challenge will feature bi-weekly workouts- on Monday and Thursday from 12:15- 12:55- at Meadow Park in San Luis Obispo. Participants can expect to sweat it out, and will be lead through a 30-minute cardio punch workout by Julia Pickslay (check out BB’s interview with Julia). To cool down after the intense activity, there will be a 10 minutes stretching and networking opportunity.

This is a great opportunity to tone your muscles, work out your body and network with powerful women in the community. The cost is $360 per person, and every Leading Lady will be set up with a day of Beach Butlerz service at Avila Beach (some restrictions apply).

For more information about the Challenge, or to register to be a Leading Lady, please visit our website. We hope to see all you Leading Ladies on March 7!

Miracle Mile for Kids

Spring is knocking at the door, and nipping at its heels is summer. If you’re looking to get beach ready this year and are searching for a way to get involved with a local non-profit then here’s your chance.

The Family Care Network, Inc (FCNI), a non-profit in San Luis Obispo and Santa Barbara counties, is preparing to host its 8th annual Miracle Mile for Kids (MM4K) 10K walk/run from Morro Rock to the Cayucous Pier.

This year’s race is on May 7 and will begin at 8:30 a.m. Participants are invited to take part in post-race activities from 9-1, such as live music and lunch. All runners/walkers will receive a goody bag filled with vendor discounts, a Miracle Miles t-shirt, and a complimentary lunch. Early registration can be completed from now until April 8 and costs $35, registration from April 8-May 5 is $45 and registration from May 5-7 is $50 (at all times registration is $15 for kids).

The Family Care Network has been a staple in San Luis Obispo for 22 years, and serves over 1,800 foster and high needs children annually. Proceeds from the event will directly aid FCNI in continuing to serve the local community.

For more information about MM4K please visit the website at www.mm4k.com. Beach Buterlz will see you on the sand on May 7. Happy training!

Lovin’ You Lovin’ Beach Butlerz

Happy Valentines Day!
It’s quite frankly one of our favorite days of the year.  We love all our Beach Butlerz clients and we send all a great big hug and kiss. Mua!
Help us spread the love by entering a raffle ticket in Intuit’s  awesome contest running through March 2011—“Love a Local Business.”  The more raffle tickets we receive, the higher our chances for winning.
We know you’re thinking, “Why should I spend the time doing this for them?” Well, it’s the rare opportunities like this that a small business can actually continue to be in business here in the US. Sometimes the giver of the funds asks us to reach out our supporters for assistance.  We suppose it’s another popularity contest, which appears to be the goal these days, but for us its a way for us to spread the love to more of you.  Your participation and thoughts about Beach Butlerz will help us to continue serving you while you spend an amazing day out at the beach.
Businesses that are chosen receive $25, 000 Intuit Hiring Grants, and are also entered to win the Grand Prize Intuit Hiring Grant.  With that kind of funding, we can take care of our Butlers.  A happy Butler equals a happy client (you!).  Please go to the Love a Local Business webpage here http://bit.ly/gwa1rY and enter a raffle ticket for Beach Butlerz. We appreciate your support!

Sea Glass Festival 2011

Mark your calendars—just around the corner is an awesome event taking place not too far from here. The Cayucos Chamber of Commerce will host the Sea Glass Festival on March 5, from 10-5 in the Cayucos Veteran’s Hall.

Vendors from around the US will be selling their sea glass masterpieces, networking with other artists, and explaining their craft to other enthusiasts. All vendor spaces have been filled for the 2011 event, so there is sure to be a multitude of creative works to view and purchase.

Sea glasswork is a popular art form in coastal communities around the world, and this is your chance to discover the beautiful pieces produced close to home as well as oceans away. Check out some of these beauties at www.AShoreThing.me made by a local artist Jane Nichols (BTW – she ROCKS!).

Admission to the event is $2, and promises to provide a day of fun for the whole family. For more information about the event please check out the Cayucos Chamber of Commerce website. Happy shopping!
